Little Charley Latham Bit By Mad Dog

Charley, the little 10-year-old son of Mr. J.T. Latham, residing near Latham post office, was bitten by a rabid dog about three weeks ago, and on last Saturday the little fellow showed unmistakable symptoms of hydrophobia. He continued to grow worse, and on the night of the 22nd the little fellow breathed his last. Dr. J.T. Cobb was the attending physician, and did everything in his power to relieve the suffering of the little fellow, but to no avail. Mr. Latham is one of the most successful farmers in this section of the state, and has many friends throughout the country who deeply sympathize with him in his sad loss. The remains of the unfortunate boy were laid to rest in the cemetery at Philadelphia Church Wednesday morning; many friends of the sorrowing family being present.
